WALMOR CHAGAS

[ Porto Alegre: 1930 ] Renowned theater, cinema and TV actor. In the 1950s and 1960s, he was one of the leading figures in an intense theatrical renaissance, being part of the Geração TBC (Teatro Brasileiro de Comédia). An ardent supporter of national playwrights he built the Teatro Ziembinski, specialized in Brazilian dramaturgy, thereby broadening his experience as director and teacher in the Estúdio do Ator. He also staged many recitals where he read poems to popular acclaim. Among his most recent performances one of the most notable was in Edward Albee’s A Delicate Balance.
