GERALDO CARNEIRO

I don't know where my roots may be. Maybe I descend from a line of libertines in the history of poetry, half a dozen Latins, English, and Frenchmen, always considered lesser poets. These probable masters of mine find delight in destroying poetry instead of creating it. Lately I have found in myself na unexpected vocation for a dishevelled lyricism annd some epic bursts of eloquence. Summing everything up, I don't know who I am. And, to make things worse, I don't know from where I come nor where I am going to. But sometimes I do believe in God, although I don't know if the opposite is true. ()

I think that the act of creating is above all a revolt of the demiurge. We are pygmees who become insurged against rules imposed on us by unknown gods. As for myself, whilst I feel capable of inventing other worlds, will persevere in the solitary vice of writing.
